In May 2012 when I though I had all the ZOO TV related itinerary books compiled in my records a new surprise came up. Someone was auctioning on Ebay a book I had never seen before.
It was a CREW book issued for the staff travelling as advance teams to those cities that the Outside Broadcast leg of the ZOO TV tour was going to visit. My surprise was bigger when I knew that he had not only one book but two different books covering two halfs of the Outside broadcast leg 1992.
This first book comes with a big black ZOO TV logo on a yellow cover that also has got the "Advance Team Summer Tour 92 Part 1" text so it was easy to assume that there would be a second book to cover part 2.
Focusing again on the Yellow book, it covers from the famous Hershey Rehearsals (from July 17th to August 7th'92) to the show at Cyclone Stadium in Iowa on September 11th'92 . This means that the book was used for "only"18 shows out of a total of 46 shows on this leg.
As I mentioned before, the book was basically issued for the crew so it does not contain too much relevant information related to the band. This book is quite similar to those U2 printed almost 20 years later for the 360º tour crew.
Every day on the road has got a specific page where we find all the information for the 3 teams (SYSTEM A, SYSTEM B and UNIVERSAL) that where travelling up and down the United States. As usual, the information included on this itinerary is related to hotels, travel times, phone numbers, venues details and so on.
The book also includes a list with all the staff involved on those 3 teams, a calendar with the place where every team will be in those couple of months, a USA map with only the states this part of the leg was traveling through (where leg is named Outdoor Broadcast instead of Outside Broadcast) , a Canada map, timing and phones codes info for the USA and a funny "Everything you drew is wrong" page.
